Northern lights over the Norwegian coast near Kristiansund
Future experience

Northern Lights

Dark skies, open horizons and the aurora over the Norwegian coast. A future experience we are still shaping.

Not bookable yet — we will announce it here first.

The idea

The aurora, from the coast

Kristiansund sits far enough north, and far enough out, that on the right night the sky does something worth staying up for. Away from the town lights there are open horizons in almost every direction.

We want to build an unhurried evening experience around that — small groups, a dark place to stand, local guides, and no rush to get anywhere.

The aurora is never guaranteed. It depends on solar activity, cloud cover and local conditions, and anyone who promises you otherwise is selling something. That honesty will be part of the experience when it launches: we will tell you what the sky is likely to do before you commit.

Photographs taken locally and shared with us by a friend of Nordic Sea Adventures.

Being honest about it

What is not decided yet

We would rather tell you what we do not know than promise something we cannot deliver. None of the following is settled:

  • Where we go

The viewing location and how we get there.

  • Duration and price

Neither is set, so neither is advertised.

  • Season and dates

Which months we run, and on what notice.

  • Group size

Small, but the number is not fixed yet.

Coming soon

We will announce it here first

In the meantime, our coastal and fishing experiences in Kristiansund run today and can be booked online.
