Kristiansund — four islands, one coastline story

On the outer edge of Norway’s weathered Atlantic coast lies Kristiansund — a lively town built across four islands, surrounded by open sea and dramatic coastal landscapes. Here, authentic coastal culture meets raw nature: salty air, shifting light, and a maritime everyday life that still feels real.

This is a destination for travelers who want Norway beyond the busiest routes — without compromising on comfort. From the water, the coastline opens up: sheltered coves, small islands, sea birds and changing horizons. It’s calm, close, and surprisingly spectacular — especially when shared in a small group.

If you’re visiting on a cruise stop, Kristiansund is ideal: easy access, real local atmosphere and experiences that fit your schedule. Our tours are designed to give you the highlights — and the hidden gems — with safe timing and a smooth return.

Therese – guest experience and maritime background at Nordic Sea Adventures

Therese

Therese combines warm, professional guest service with real maritime experience. She has worked onboard Hurtigruten and in hospitality, and has also run her own lobster-fishing business — delivering live lobster to Michelin-level restaurants in Europe, the UK and the US.

Today she works on a well boat, bringing that same calm, precision and care onboard — the kind of hosting that makes guests feel looked after from the first hello to the final docking.

Fredrik – fisherman and Barents Sea experience at Nordic Sea Adventures

Fredrik

Fisherman • Line fishing & crab boats • Barents Sea

Fredrik’s relationship with the sea started early — he bought his first boat at just nine years old after years of saving up, one bottle deposit at a time. That says a lot about who he is: focused, patient, and genuinely driven by life on the water.

He works professionally with longline fishing and crab vessels far out in the Barents Sea — and brings that steady, confident seamanship into every tour. With Fredrik onboard, guests experience the coastline with someone who truly lives it.
