About us

A small local company in Kristiansund

One simple goal: make it easy for visitors to try something genuinely Norwegian while they are here.

We are Ron and Marianne — a husband-and-wife team from Kristiansund who love sharing the best of our coast. Nordic Sea Adventures is built on local knowledge, genuine hospitality and personal experiences you will not find anywhere else.

Right now that means the coast just outside town. We pick guests up directly at the cruise terminal and take them to Klubba — past a historic chapel and cemetery, through a peaceful forest, out to open rock and spectacular ocean views. Bring a rod along, or simply enjoy the walk and the view.

We believe the best travel memories often come from small, real experiences rather than large organised sightseeing. A few hours on the rock with the sea in front of you tends to stick with you longer than another bus window.

Kristiansund receives a steady stream of cruise guests with only a few hours ashore, and most of them never get past the town centre. That is exactly the gap these experiences are built for — we handle the transport in both directions so there is nothing for you to work out.

Where we are right now

A pilot, kept deliberately small

We are running this as a pilot in Kristiansund to find out what visitors actually want. That means we keep things small, honest and easy to book — and we would rather tell you exactly what you get than oversell it.

Meet Ron — professional fisherman & local guide

When you fish with Nordic Sea Adventures, you are guided by someone who truly knows the Norwegian Sea.

Professional fishing background

Ron has worked professionally in the fishing industry for 14 years. He has been a longline fisherman, and has owned and operated his own fishing company and fishing vessel.

His experience includes longline and gillnet fishing, crab and langoustine fishing, wrasse fishing, and tagging and recapture work.

Knowledge of the sea

Longline fishing is widely considered one of the toughest jobs at sea. It takes strength, endurance and an intimate knowledge of the ocean, its changing conditions and the species living beneath the surface.

Ron knows the local fish species and enjoys sharing this knowledge with guests — in the photograph he is identifying a fish caught by one of our visitors.

With us you do not simply borrow a rod — you fish alongside an experienced Norwegian fisherman, learn about the catch, and meet a genuine part of Norway's coastal heritage.

Local host

Meet Marianne — your local host and guide

Marianne is your local host and guide, with a genuine love for Kristiansund, the landscapes of Nordmøre and the stories that make this part of Norway what it is.

Warm and attentive to the details, she wants every guest to feel personally looked after from the moment they step off the ship. She guides you through local history, quiet forest paths and some of the coast's most beautiful viewpoints — including places most visitors would never find on their own.

She is also behind many of the details that make the day memorable: the planned routes, the personal service, the photo stops and the local souvenirs.

For Marianne, guiding is not about showing you a destination. It is about welcoming you into the place she calls home.
